Sandvilla Guest House is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Oban town centre and transport terminals. It is equally close to the famous McCaig’s Tower, which has panoramic views across the bay of Oban towards the isles of Kerrera, Lismore, and naturally, the Isle of Mull. All of these islands have ferry links with Oban.

By Road

The roads to Oban are a pleasure to drive on, with wonderful views. Oban is well signposted, with access via the A816 from the south or the A85 from the north. Driving time from Glasgow is about two hours, following the A85 from the clearly signposted junction at Tyndrum.

There are good bus links with Fort William and Inverness, as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh and details of the Scottish Citylink timetable can be found on their website.

By Rail

Scotrail run a regular train service from Glasgow Queen Street station, which runs along the world famous West Highland line. For more information see the Scotrail timetable.

By Plane

The most convenient airport is Glasgow (80 miles) or Glasgow Prestwick. You can hire a car from either airport.

By Ferry

Ferries are operated by Caledonian MacBrayne to most of the Western Isles. Their website contains timetable details.
